Eight Greeting Cards featuring ‘Band of Brothers’ design by original artwork by Jane Braithwaite.
Our special thanks to Victoria Awdry Tibbot. This painting in memory of her grandfather’s horse ‘Tempest’, was displayed at the Sir Alfred Munnings Museum as part of a WW1 centenary celebration.
Col. Edmund Portman Awdry, M.C., T.D., D.L, Royal Wiltshire Yeomanry, and 10th Hussars (Prince of Wales’s Own).
He trained many horses for the regiment and taught numerous Officers to ride. He took an awkward 15.2hh thoroughbred called Tempest to the WW1 Battlefield and returned with him at the end of the hostilities. Tempest recovered to hunt with the Duke of Beaufort’s and The Vale of the White Horse, before retirement.
Tempest was buried at home in Chippenham, Wiltshire.
